* Civic Holiday Weekend
Current mood: Am quite content. There is much to be thankful for and there is nothing more I can ask for.
Current interest: Lost episodes.
This is the first WORK-FREE weekend in 4 weeks!!! It feels good to sleep in 3 days in a row. It is quite a change from working 10 hours to ending my days at noon, literally. I can’t complain.

Although this post is supposed to be about the Civic Holiday Weekend, I just have to blog that I went to my first concert at the Roy Thompson Hall! The only other time I’ve been to the RTH was listening to the TSO. Anyhow, We went to see Jewel. It was very intimate and personal - just her, her guitar, and us, the audience. Yes, yes I know, it’s not a real concert, or at least nothing extravagant compared to the BSB concert this coming Tuesday, but a first to see a famous musical star.

We caught some songs on video, so if anyone knows how to upload audio movie links, it would be greatly appreciated! :)
So back to the Civic Holiday Weekend, it has been fairly relaxing. My parents were away at Mont Tremblant in Quebec this weekend, which really means unleashing those hidden cook books once again and becoming domestified. I am actually quite impressed at ourselves! On the menu for Saturday:

Scalloped potatoes
Spicy Chicken Breasts
All American Apple Pie

All American Apple Pie

The infamous apple pie

This time the pie was not salty! Haha. Actually quite tasty. No mix up of the teaspoons for tablespoons. I guess what they say is true, “Third time’s a charm.” And I actually have crusts on the side. :P
I went and did the most foolish thing this weekend: I cut my hair. Laur Laur, Star, and I were so bored that we decided to spontaneously cut our hair. I wanted a 1-inch trim and long side-sweeped bangs, but my hair ended up a good 2-inches shorter than expected with Mickey-d bangs. I have this new and improved maternal look. Oh, it was disastrous.
On a plus note, I satisfied a sushi craving this weekend with the girlies. We went to the Tako sushi place on Don Mills. It was really nice seeing everyone again and meeting the new roomy who’s taking over my room in London.

The 308 Girls ~ I'll really miss you girlies.
So the countdown really begins now. Started writing my good-bye and thank you cards this weekend and I will be having a farewell lunch with my co-workers this Friday. I can’t believe it’s August already.Less than three weeks to say good-bye to everyone.
Less than three weeks to my future destination: PANAMA.
