* That Flew By...

Here's a look at the past week of my life:

* Madagascar (***): I'd only give it a two and a half stars. I find the movie is catered more towards children. I thought Alex the Lion was annoying for some reason and the Penguins a little bit much.

* Monday: Volunteering with the kids!

* Tuesday: Yardsale set up. Star, phoenixsong, and I put up signs that advertised our upcoming yardsale for the Cancer Relay for Life this June 24th.

* Wednesday: Romantic date with PI at an indian cuisine. Oh so spicy and yummy! We tried two dishes: Vindaloo and Mattar Keema. No runs or nothing.

* Thursday: Star's birthday! Went to Picklebarrel to eat dinner and dessert, yet we didn't even end up eating dessert!

*Friday: Drinks @ the GSU for Jeff's birthday, then dinner @ **ass Mountain Restaurant.

* Hand-made 120 catheters by the end of the week.

* Saturday: Up at 7a.m. for the yardsale. People got there before the garage sale started and even helped us set up. Anyhow, can I tell you how I have never seen people who are so damn cheap in my life? Holy crap. Okay, a lady picks up this vest - brand name, never-been-worn-with-tag-still-on vest. Selling price: $5. Retail value: $40+. She's like I'll take the vest and tank top for four dollars. What the mother? Or take this other lady who contemplated for like 5 hours (okay well maybe not five hours but a considerable amount of time) whether to buy a $1 Esprit tank top. Like frigging hell!!! Even after telling them that proceeds go to charity with a huge sign dangling in front of their face that explicitly says "...for the Cancer Society," they still bargain. "One dollar, madame." "Ummm...I take it for feeeeiiftey centss." First of all, my clothes are worth more than the value at which they are purchased; and honestly, I'd rather donate it for FREE to Value Village or the Diabetes Association so they could at least to make MORE money off of my clothes and give it to charity then!!! GAHhh!!! These people!!! And the day just gets better. I studied for 6 hours. Went to a 4 hour dinner (Yes, four hours) due to our Chinese "reservations" - reservations that do NOT hold because Chinese restaurants like to frigging overbook. Got home just passed eleven. Damn pissed.

* Sunday: Church and studying.

* YAY to the scrappage of mandatory retirement - no more age discrimination!!!

* NAY (???) to Quebecers' now two-tier medicine. I am actually not so sure about this. As an aspiring future physician, I do believe in the core principles that are rooted so deeply in our health care system. I am not sure if having a two-tier system running parallel to complement public health care will solve our existing problems in medicare. Governments need to recognize the trend toward an aging population - this is not going to change. Though these people are more educated and healthier, modern health problems tend to be chronic and cormorbid with other diseases, albeit not the only reason in our overtaxed system. Rising costs in health care will continue - more money into the system will not effect change as evidenced by our bandage solutions to our reoccurring problems. Is this another acute treatment or temporary solution? Is this viable?
...I'm up for a discussion...

* June 14th is coming close...to those of you who know me I ask only this: Death or death???!???
